The company received the award for Standout DEI Recruitment Initiative based on efforts to diversify its workforce through hiring and recruitment practices.

During the first day of the TPM 2023 industry event, Direct ChassisLink, Inc. (“DCLI”) was one of four honorees announced during the TPM23 DEI Honors ceremony. Lee Newitt, DCLI’s President and Chief Financial Officer, accepted the award for Standout DEI Recruitment Initiative for the company’s efforts to increase the diversity of workforce through recruiting and hiring practices.

In his acceptance speech, Newitt remarked on DCLI’s DEI journey. “Diversity, equity, and inclusion have always been core values at DCLI. But, when we took stock of our workforce composition a few years ago, it became clear that we had an opportunity to improve,” said Newitt. “One of our objectives is to have a workforce that is representative in every way of the communities in which we operate.”

DCLI created its DEI Council in 2020, expanded its recruiting team, and enhanced its partnerships with universities like NC A&T State University, the largest HBCU in the United States. Over the past few years, we have made substantial progress toward reaching that objective of a more diverse workforce:

  • Our Asian American employee population has grown 31%

  • Our African American employee population has grown 47%

  • Our Hispanic/Latino employee population has grown 10%

  • The number of women in leadership roles has grown 150%

“To be clear, we still have work to do, but we are on our way,” said Newitt.
